I don’t usual share other posts, but this one by Finding Joy, was just what I needed. I love my two girls more than anything, but sometimes my three year old makes me insane. If you’re a mom or a stay at home parent like me, who feels like you’re loosing a bit of sanity, read this:

Our Lady of the Rosary (Doha, Qatar)

Our newest venture possibility is Doha, Qatar. There is apparently a job opening there and my husband is thinking of applying for the position. My first question: Is there a catholic church? Why yes, yes there is. Catholic Church of Our Lady of the Rosary. It’s website is rather impressive ( On Friday, tomorrow, there is fourteen masses! Nine languages are spoken during that day. On Sunday, there are seven masses all in English. According to the Parish Priest page, they have eight priest. I really want to know how many parishioners this parish has. Our catholic church here has two priests, that are shared between three parishes in the area.

A Shove Would be Nice…

Anyone who follows this blog gets as much as a turn around tonight as I did today after posting “Things to do in Pueblo Colorado“. Turns out that the man who asked my husband if we might be willing to move to Colorado was speaking out of turn, before anything had been decided on. There is a chance that we’ll be moving to Champagne Illinois instead. I don’t think any of you have to guess what the next post would be…perhaps things to do in Illinois? Boy oh boy, I did not expect that in the least, but we have been praying for direction and God has just given us many. Wait and see I suppose, but I wish it were a shove instead. I told my husband today that some times I wish we were in the army, and were given orders instead to the location we were moving. At least then we would have a game plan. I dislike having everything up in the air. Even if we were given a written contract for a certain number of years to move outside the USA, I would do it in a heart beat if for the right salary as long as it was a suitable place to raise a family. Do any of you ever feel the same way? That if having the certainty that all necessities were paid for and you/your family was safe, you would be willing to do what was needed?

There is a prayer that my brother in law says, that I think of quite often it times like these, he asks God, “Make my path so clear a blind man could follow it.”

Things to do in Pueblo Colorado

In the midst of returning from a business trip in Illinois, my husband was asked if we might be willing to move from Washington State to Colorado to become the Project Manager for that site. Can’t say that I’m head over heels excited about the possible move, but as I told my husband, I’m willing to do what is needed and I’m always up for an adventure. I took sometime last night and looked up Pueblo, Colorado since that is the closest city to the project and I couldn’t believe how many different things there is. Not too shabby for desert country.

Some of my favorite findings were:

1. Buell Children’s Museum (

On their website, I like that it says for children ages 1-101. It’s a 12,000 square-foot, two-level facility.  The regular entry fee is $3 for children/military and $4 adults. The coupon above is available on their website. A family membership is $45, but if you’d like to see all their membership options visit

2. Pueblo Zoo (

This zoo covers twenty-five acres of the southwest part of Pueblo City Park. It is home to more than 420 animals. It’s open year around and does have entry fee, although kids two and below are free. Ages 3-12 $6, Ages 13-17/military/seniors $7, Ages 18+ $8. Family membership is $60, but here is the link for all membership options:!membership/c21kz

3. Kiddy Rides at City Park (

How wonderful would it be to have your own mini childrens amusement park just a few blocks from your house? Ride tickets are .25 each! The train, carousel, bounce houses and adults require two tickets, but all other rides are only one ticket. A neat fact is that the carousel is antique, built in 1911 ( National Carousel Day, July 23 has FREE carousel rides and National Roller Coaster Day, August 16, FREE coaster rides. In my opinion, getting something for free is always a nice treat.

Brownies by Mom

While my mom was down helping with Josephine, she made some wonderfully healthy and delicious brownies for us. Diabetic and Osteoporosis friendly. Gluten free.
3/4 cup nonfat Greek yogurt
1/4 cup almond milk
1/2 cup Cocoa powder
1/2 cup Old fashioned rolled oats (like Quaker)
1/2 cup Truvia
1 egg
1/3 cup applesauce
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 pinch salt
Preheat the oven to 400°F. Grease a square baking dish (8″x8″). Combine all ingredients in a large bowl, mix until smooth. Pour into the prepared dish and bake for about 20 minutes. Allow to cool completely before cutting.

Human Milk for Human Babies- Facebook

As you’ve recently learned, last week on 10/10 I gave birth to our second daughter, Josephine. Since I’m a stay at home mom, I don’t need most of the milk I pump during the day. After a bit of research last week I came across a group on Facebook called, “Human Milk for Human Babies” ( This chapter is for Washington. Every state should have  It is a group of mothers or mothers to be  who exchange breast milk. A modern day group of wet nurses per say. Anyone who has extra milk, offers it up for someone in need.  Vice versa anyone in need asks. Unlike a milk bank, which takes donated milk and then charges $3 an ounce to those in need, Human Milk for Human Babies or HM4HB, has no cost. However in consideration to pumping mothers the receiver usually provides the bags for freezing the milk.

I will probably be posting my milk at the end of the month. Over the past week, I’ve been pumping about 15 ounces a day, so it should provide a considerable blessing to someone in need in the Washington area.

Long Absense. My Appology.

Over the past month and a half my life has been in constant change, with very little time available. We’ve moved into a house in Lakewood now and prepared for our baby who was due in November. One thing after the next came up and before I knew it we only had a month before the baby was due with almost nothing done. About two weeks ago we finally installed internet and a home phone. Then last week 10/10, I went into labor a month early and gave birth to our second daughter 5 weeks early. Her name is Josephine. My mom flew in from FL the minute she found out I went into labor and stayed with us for Josephine’s first week.

There is many things that I’ve learned over the past month and a half, and I’ll try in my spare time to share them.
